Despite perhaps everything you know about me,

I'd describe myself as an introvert.
In the simplest terms, I prefer solitude and self-reflection to external social stimulation.
My social battery seems to deplete a lot faster than the people I hang out with do.
This is probably why I’m drawn to distance running.
Nothing but endless miles in peaceful silence.
Ahhhh, paradise.
But even with my hermit-like tendencies, at some point, the miles get lonely.
There came a point where I started canceling social engagements because, well…I had a run in the morning.
A party that starts at 9 PM?! Be for real.
But all is not lost.
I learned a few years back that the Saturday morning long run is a beautiful replacement for a Friday night party (stay with me).
Sure, it’s definitely not as cool as some of the nightlife establishments I previously frequented.
Running is squarely type-2 fun. It’s difficult in the moment but incredibly rewarding afterwards.
When done with others — with a friend or in a group — it becomes rewarding in the moment, as well.
For the neurotic, productivity-driven, capitalist-dogmatic type, one could say you’re killing two birds with one stone: socializing and getting your work done.
that’s efficiency, baby.
It doesn’t stop there.
Group runs become group chats.
On runs, we talk about the rest of life. From the comfort of our own homes, we talk about our runs in the group chats.
There's a deeper truth here: these aren’t just my running friends. These are my teammates.
As a coach, I can promise you that having a team will make you a happier runner. And that will make you a better runner.
What more could I want for my friends, my athletes, and all the other runners out there following Great Day online?
The answer is clear: community.
It’s time I cordially invite you to join Team Great Day.
Join your new running team on WhatsApp
This past week, the newly appointed GAY BAR FUN RUN captains and I officially launched the Great Day online community on WhatsApp.
Think of this as your virtual team.
It's the place where you can find support, motivation, or gossip after the group run—just like you’d find on any great team.
It is thoughtfully designed with multiple channels to support you wherever you are in your journey:
The Social Channel: This is where you’ll connect with other runners. Continue the conversation after the run and make non-running plans.
The Training Channel: Here, you’ll find expert-led discussions for how to bring out your best performances. Get tips, tricks, and everything in between to make you a stronger runner, along with content curated to inspire you.
Even though I believe wholeheartedly in personalized, one-on-one coaching as the most effective way to improve, there is one drawback: we are stronger when we work together, not alone.
With this group, I’ll be able to observe the challenges of one athlete and distill them down to practical tips for others.
We’re pooling our knowledge and making it available to everyone.
It’s also the place where I’ll share my athletes' wins and give some well-deserved recognition for all kinds of achievements.
Just like a real team.
These channels will be expanding over the next couple of weeks, and I hope you’ll join us.
Join our community here.
